Cogito, ergo doleo

Above is a rendered still of my Edgar Allan Poe-esque character getting into some macabre mischief... not quite done with lighting but thought I'd show progress. Below is a DrawingForAnimators assignment (to take a character we designed earlier in the semester and place them in an environment).

And these were just done on the side...

We're talkin' bout practice.

The first two pictures are part of a self-caricature assignment for Drawing for Animators class. The third is an assignment from the same class, where we made abstract scribbles and found figures/ creatures in them... the last two are just for fun.

Scio me nihil scire

I guess over a year is long enough to go without updating... so here's a handful of things from the past several months, from newest to oldest. I'm not so good with keeping up with this blog, but there's more where this came from and I will be putting more work up in the near future. I mean it this time, really.

Progress! yes

My most recent Observational Color homework-
compared to the one I did before it...
compared the the first assignment...
Granted, the hand study and tree branch were done in water-based oils and the still life in acrylics (gag), but there has been some definite progress. Which is very rewarding. :)

Behold! First ever digital painting! (sort of...)

4 1/2 hours... I'm done with it, but it's not necessarily finished... this is the second digital painting I've ever done, and the first I've done on Corel. ^__^ an apple! I know, it's exciting : /
